Service Never Retires

This is simply a trial, a test, to see if I can actually start a blog about a project I have been working on for about 8 years.  Setting up my profiles and all that jazz to see if I can make this blog somewhat savy and something others will seek to find.

My first statement is simple:  Service never retires.  Although I have been officially retired from the Army for 10 days, as of today, I will never lay down my sense of service.  To me, it is a lifetime of service, and I offer the rest of my lifetime to continue to serve in some capacity.

So, what is Adonai Community Support Services?  More to follow, but in short, it will be a not for profit organization meeting the needs of Veterans and families.  While no one in the community will be turned away, regardless of Veteran status, my goal is to target the population for Veterans.

What are some of the needs?  From my perspective, I see the needs to fill an employment gap once a Veteran leaves the military.  I see a need to acknowledge and promote benefits that many Veterans might not be aware existed.  I see a need for transition assistance, peer to peer mentoring, and support in general.  Vague for now, but much more to follow.

I have pitched my business plan to our city mayor, Mr. Bill Breeden - a fine man of character.  I have also met with him and our city economic developer, Ms. Cynthia Dove - an enthusiastic woman who seeks to keep our town alive through a living economy.

I meet with a key person tomorrow to discuss office space.  Watch out, once I have an address and a phone number, I am going to LIGHT UP the sky with my own passions and intentions.

Much more to follow...at least, I hope you will follow!
